Backup exec 2010 R2 遇上 vSphere 4.1 的錯誤 VixDiskLib_Open() reported the error: You do not have access rights to this file @ The power of the dark side

在vSphere還在4.0的時候，試用BE2010去備VM一切都很OK，使用HOTADD模式，速度都是1GB/MIN以上。

這下vSphere更新到4.1，BE2010也出了R2版，就再來測試看看。

BE2010R2裝在64位元的Server2008R2上，設了資料夾裝置開始備份後，發現它使用NBD模式備，跳過了我排序較前面的HOTADD模式。

雖然NBD在這版更快了，每分鐘可達400MB左右。但是我要用HOTADD更快不是更好嗎?

所以我把模式單選HOTADD，結果都錯誤：

Backup- VMVCB::\\VCENTER-01.domain.local\VCGuestVm\Datacenter01\vm\Infrastructure VMs\VM-W8-DC01 V-79-57344-38277 - Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine.

VixDiskLib_Open() reported the error: You do not have access rights to this file

不管怎麼嚐試與調整都一樣這個錯誤。

結果查了很久改了很久搞了我兩天才發現........Symantec官網這條訊息：

Problem
Backup jobs fail
if the Hotadd transport mode is selected when using ESX 4.1
Error
Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine.
Environment
Reproduction:
1. Install Backup Exec 2010 R2 on a Windows 2003 x86 VM on a 4.1 ESX host.
2. Create a backup job for another VM on the same host.
3. On the VMware tab only leave the Hotadd transport mode selected.
4. Run the backup and it will fail with the error "Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine."
Cause
The “Hotadd” transport mode is not supported with ESX 4.1
